~ Ephesians 6:12 ~
"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is the sixth and current President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He became president on August 6, 2005 and is the highest directly elected official in the country. He has much less power, however, than the Supreme Leader of Iran, the Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Khameini is the commander-in-chief of the armed forces of Iran and has the final word in all aspects of foreign and domestic policies.
Ahmadinejad is a vocal critic of the US Administration under George W. Bush and supports strengthened relations with Russia, Venezuela, Syria, and the Persian Gulf states. He has been constantly and consistently vocal in his anti-Zionist rhetoric, with his statements rarely rebuked by the UN, no matter how inflammatorty they have been (see the movie clip below).
Iran’s Nuclear Programme
Ahmedinejad has said that Iran's nuclear program is only for peaceful purposes and has refused to end enrichment. In recent weeks, the USA has been joined by the UN, the IAEA and even the EU in agreeing that Iran has definite plans to become a nuclear state. Even Russia has admitted their knowledge of this fact by asking 'so what' regarding Iran's nuclear capabilites.

Iran, Israel and the Jews
Ahmedinejad has called for the destruction of Israel, its people and its government. He regards none of these as legitimate or representative of the population (by his definition), and has called for 'free elections' in the region, even though these already exist with Israel being the only truly free democracy in the region for all its citizens.
He believes that the so-called ‘Palestinians’ need a stronger voice in the region's future. One of his most controversial statements was one in which he called for Israel to be "wiped off the map". He has also been widely condemned for describing the Holocaust as a myth.
Iran and the UN
Although the UN has made several declarations to cease Iran's nuclear programme, they have all been ignored.
To see and hear for yourself what Ahmedinejad thinks about Israel, just watch the short (4 minutes 18 seconds) movie clip of his address to the UK General Assembly on 23rd September 2008.
Shockingly, his anti-semitic, biased, unfounded and highly inflammatory statements about the Israeli State and Jewish people was greeted with applause and even smiles and a friendly embrace from the UN President, Miguel d'Escoto Brockmann.
